Hiya folks

ok im not an actual noob. been wiring up radios in cars for a while but im looking to do a full ICE system with Xovers fuses and amps which i am not exactly up to speed on.

anyway i have the following.
Clarion FZ409E Media Head Unit with Remote Control
Clarion Sub SRV202 Amplified Car Sub Enclosure
Phoenix Gold M25 Amp

I need Xovers and speakers.

I want to put the sub in the boot so it can easily be removed and all the speakers, Xovers, fuses head unit and hopefully amp on the speakerboard so it can be removed in a couple of mins. My car is almost factory condition 1977 mini so removign a modern system for shows is paramount.

Anyone help me with recommending a decent set of speakers (preferably NOT 6x9) and xovers and doing a wirign diagram of what goes where.

Any help on consealed systems done before would be ideal. especially front speakers that are completely hidden from view.

Cheers

Kris

Well as for the speakers it depends on the budget but here is a basic diagram any questions just ask.

Crossovers are usually mounted close to the speakers but they could always be mounted on the doorcards if thats where you are having the speakers. you could mount the sub and the amp on the same board and do the majority of the wiring all on the board to make it look neat and have as few wires to disconnect as possible.

Edit: just realised the amps and earth do quite look like genitalia but that was not the intention!

Well im not spending a fortune.

I was thinking about up to the £50 mark for now. I can always upgrade them later if need be

I am looking at something like 5" 3way round speakers but will consider 4x7's I think 6x9 will be a bit tight if i want to keep as much on the speaker board as possible

Ah your going for a speaker board under the rear seat?

Also round speakers are so much better than 6x9's your right to want to avoid the 6x9's. 6x9's give a lot of noise but are inaccurate and give out large bass which ruins the res of the sound and when you have a sub you can keep the bass away from the speakers and they will sound better.

As for which ones to go for i have no experience of any under £100 so i wont spout off saying what to get but to be honest it all comes down to what you like the sound of. You need to go to a shop and listen to different brands and get an idea of what ones you like and go from there.

Cool, they look pretty good, it looks like just a single input on them so on the wiring ignore the woofer and tweeter parts and plug straight in to where the crossover would be as i dont think that there is one with these speakers.

Good luck,

Rhys
