Can anyone offer their opinions and knowledge on converting a fresh air to heater pipe.
Im trying to take all rust traps out of the equation and gain more space in the engine bay on my project.
The fresh air vent holes are welded over, but im wondering about the fresh air to heater pipe. The pipe seemed a great spot for damp dirt to gather, most rust was found around this pipe.

Wanting to keep the engine bay simple and tidy, im planning to remove the servo. Im after information and inspiration on taking the ugly 90degree plastic intake bit off and welding the hole up on the inner wing and flitch.
after this im in two minds wether to have a `recirculating` heater or install a pipe through the bulkhead like the earlier minis had. If the later is chosen, im thinking it should look better and also be easier to remove if the engine has to regularly come out. Has anyone done this conversion.
