Can I safely remove the top radiator hose on an Mpi and replace it when the car is 100% cold WITHOUT spilling coolant everywhere? I assume the coolant does not sit in that hose when the engine is completely cold? My hose got slightly burned by a power line shorting on it and I'd like to replace it without having to drain all the coolant out of the system and wasting a whole bunch of time.

I just don't want it to blow out all over my clean engine and new radiator. The coolant is brand new, so I'd like to keep as much as possible in the system to avoid a mess and waste.
