how would you stop it smashing as your driving? and how would you power it?
plus what if i need acces to the spare wheel in the boot?

Do we have to do all the thinking for you?! lol
how would you stop it smashing as your driving? Err build a box or screw it down?!
how would you power it? Power inverter of sorts?!
plus what if i need acces to the spare wheel in the boot? Carry a can of Tire weld instead, or build it where it can easily be removed (ie the TV is screwed to the platform but the whole bottom slides out to access the spare wheel) I drive a pick up... Do you think I carry a spare wheel?!

but you would need to uprate the cable and the cable mounts, the hinges should be okay, but i think welding in some proper mounts for that cable would be necessary.
would look pretty cool tho.

my friend really wanted to turn the boot lid into a bench.

thats a properly good idea!
if you had better brackets and cables, are you sure the hinges would be strong enough? i imagine it would bend the hinge panel?

thats not my problem!
but seriously tho i think if the others are strong enough and takes most of the weight then i dont think is should be to much of a problem. but it may be better to be safe than sorry.
what about putting a reinforcing plate behind the hinge that attacths to the boot floor for strength, or instead of a plate a bit of box section.
if you do it it would be properly good and probably completely original!!!!

Now thats a rather unique and novel Idea! I wanted that also, so I bough a pick up lol. Seriously, that is a rather good idea actually. not ever heard of that one before.
