Hi!

I'm realy, realy undecided on this one... I have a feeling that it might make the car look too 'top heavy'. Since there's no chrome trim anywhere on the bottom of the car, and the bumpers are black too. So I fear it might shift the 'optical heaviness (in dire need for other words)' too much to the top?? If you get my idea!?

What do you think?? :thumbsup:

Cheers,
Jan

110% with the chrome trim round the door.
really finishes the car off.

i think it might look even better if the wheels had a polished rim

I think it looks great, especially with the blue.

It does look good (and you know it) so do it.

But it's not "Innocenti" to have chrome trim on the windows - a few Coopers had them.
And so what ?
If you like it - do it.

The Innocenti had those super cool opening quarterlights on the front windows.
Which I would really like to do on mine but original Innocenti doors go for £500 a pair and
are hard to find even if you had the money to burn !

When you look at the pictures you have to wonder why Austin / Morris / Leyland / Rover didn't do it
because it looks like such an obvious good styling touch.

(check out the "long throw" mirror arm and the round wing indicator too)

Innocenti = very cool motor and lottery win for me = buy one.

Best wishes
Monty

Past owner dechromed a lot of stuff on my mini and since i'm quite fond of the shiny stuff, I'm keen to put the chrome back!

Would love some of these door-window-frame-top-trim-things! Where do you all get them from?

@Monty:
Not sure I get you!? Of course Innos had those trims (though not all Innos - or is that what you meant!?) :o But they are stainless steel, not chrome - if you want to be that precise ;)

The Cooper S trims are much thinner and don't extend over the top of the window frame - as opposed to the Inno trim. Which makes them look more decent and 'slim'.

@Matt.P:
I for example wait a few years and when the time's right & I see something for sale - I grab it. :o Or I simply ask the right people ;)

Anyway; I leave it as it is. I come to the conclusion that it is too heavy on the eyes. Maybe when I go for GrpII arches with chrome strip - but that's not sure yet.

that looks much better because it matches the rear window.
they look very odd with one being black and the other being chrome.

oh by the way has that been photoshop or put on properly by you?

@ Asphalt

I see what you mean - the cooper S trims are thinner (and better looking).
A bit pricey from Minispares though...

Oh, I didn't knew they'r still being made ;) And they make them for windup doors as well :o

@E-Tizzle:
I have a set of Inno trims here, no photoshop (much quicker to make two photos :o)
