I personally have never seen one of these fitted to a mini......Down force.... how fast will you be going?. I think minis handle just fine without the need for.....Down force....But having said that, you will have something not many others have. If it dosnt weigh much and doesnt abverselly affect the handling then why not..

If the z car mini is rear wheel drive, then i can understand fitting one, but on a front wheel drive why would you want to have downforce?

You understand what its for dont you??? They clean the air flow as it leaves from under the back of the car, Only works when you are going very fast. At slow speeds its going to be useless, But as i said before, your choice really.

i am gettign the imrpession from some peoples reply, that they think this is a spoiler and is bolted to the roof. just so people know, this is not a spoiler it is a defuser that is bolted to the underside of the car to help with the aerodynamics of the underside of the car, as well as to try and smoothly replace the air, that the car has forced out of the way.

carbon weazel also makes them:

EDIT: beaten to it ;)

Most probably unnecessary on a road car. No doubt it helps smooth out the flow around the rear subframe and rear valance.

Whether it works or not, it looks the nuts! ;)

yeah we know its not a spoilre lol hence rear diffuser.

and yeh the whole point is for extra down force while travelling fast.

this topic was just to see if anyone has one fitted and the pros/cons.

If you want down force fit a spoiler!! I am not sure but i think diffusers clean the air turbulance as it leaves the back of the car therefore reducing drag allowing greater straight line stability. I might be wrong but I dont think it will help down force unless used in conjunction with side skirts in order to create a vacuume under the car. And im also pretty sure a mini design will not lend itsellf to this kind of aerodynamics.

I've seen them fitted to quite a few Hill Climb and Sprint Minis over the years but not on a road car. To be effective they need to run fairly close to the road surface which may be an issue on the road. But there again, if you want it just for looks none of the above matters, but you will have to find somewhere else for your exhaust back box to live.
