Voice and fingerprint recognition software built into the steering wheel? If someone pinches it and gets behind the wheel, if his voice and fingerprint don't match, a shotgun protrudes from under the steering column and shoots him between the legs

My friend just used to put a picture of himself in the window with a note saying "this is my mini if you touch it I will find you". He was a worlds strongest man contender twice so he used to be able to park it unlocked in leighpark (the largest housing estate in europe at the time)

its quite easy to wire up the starter solenoid to a secret switch so turning the keo on its own wont do a thing, you have to turn the key and hold a switch at the same time.

When ever I used to park my mini in a dodgy part of London, I too would would remove the rotor arm from the dizzy and carry it around in my pocket. I figured that even if any "would be theif" did work out what was missing, they would be very unlikely to be carrying around a spare rotor arm with them (unless of course they were also a mini owner who was using the same trick to prevent their own mini from being nicked!)

A little hint though, if you do try this one...... If your bonnet is the internal release type, then dont place your car keys safetly on top of the air filter housing/box of your locked car, whilst you remove the rotor arm from the dizzy. It's way too easy to slam the bonnet shut with the keys still under there and no way of getting to them!! (DOH!)

sounds like you have done it hahah

I may have done it once, or maybe even TWICE!!.... (They say that " even children & animals learn by repetition".... alas though not me!!)
