Hi,

I just thought I'd share that I've just put my entry in as a team of 3 to take part in the TORQ 12:12 12-hour Enduro on 29th August. It will be my first Enduro and is likely to be my 3rd ever MTB event!!

I'm a very experienced road racer with 13+ years racing in my legs to quite a good standard during my early years but as far as MTB racing goes, I'm a novice! so it's going to be quite an experience.

Now I better get the mountain bike out and do some training.

Luke.

Good luck with your training. Used to do lots of xc myself, but now i'm old and fat i find the going up hill bit really difficult. Downhill is deffo the way ahead for me, especially when there's an uplift of ski lift :D

Thanks I'll need it.

I haven't really experienced proper downhill riding yet and when I do it will only result in my buying another bike so I best avoid that one for a while.

I'm using an original Crank brothers Joplin seat post. Mine's had the usual leaks etc, but the new one's are much improved. It's the single best investment i've made for the bike. Mean at the top of the descent you just drop the seat, so you can get right over the wheel, but also it mens you don't get smacked up the arse when you do the jumps.

There are a few similar products on the market now, nd some might argue they are better. Think one manufacturer is KHS. Well worth buying though.
