Bonnet Release

my 1992 Rover mini doesnt have any of the original parts for locking the bonnet down e.g catch, release cable, they where removed and fitted with some straps, anyone can walk up and open my bonnet, does anyone know when i can get a full kit from, latch, cable and what not, many thanks

you can get internal bonnet release kits from mini spares, but i got mine for £3 at L2B, its a lot better, replaces teh lock and then you run a cable to under your dash and fi a bracket for the handle to fit into then you ahev to open the car to get into your bonnet.

many thanks, yeh i had seen it but wasnt sure if this was everything i needed, if i buy this i shouldnt really need to buy any other parts?

So same as the minispares one but cheaper, Nice. Have tried L2B on google but no luck, Unless you mean a trader at the london to brighton mini run,Have you got a link or a contact number because ill have one at that price.

Does your bonnet still have the long pin and spring which goes into the slam panel, And/or does the slam panel have the catch to hold the pin. you will need all of this for the mini spares kit to work.

Nah mate everythings been removed by last owner, just the hole above the grill where the bonnet sits on and a metal plate in the bonnet thats it, If you have got links to everything i need because i dont know what i need haha many thanks

hey, dont have the traders name soz, it was oen of those walk past and ohh teo internal bonnet kits, ohh i need two ill have them.

Sorry but this all comes to around £60. And im not sure ive got every thing on the list.
A lot of minis still have the old external release. (mine does) and I dont really worry about it. Depends what you have under the bonnet and where you leave it.
