Hey,

As you may know, I am buying a totally original, 34,000 mile, 1973 Austin Mini 1000 which came equipped new with "Olive Carpets". They have since been replaced with black ones that I really do not like! I have trawled the internet, but not been very successful! Could anyone enlighten me?

Much Obliged,

Jack :D

That is an idea, however, I don't know how well dying black carpets would work....

Grey might be more easily dyed as it seems a more similar colour to olive
I am not an expert by any means though but just a last resort strategy
Sure one of the interior people can sort you out to be honest just might cost you a bit could try giving retro retrims a pm or something

You could try asking minitrimmings if they could do a set http://minitrimmings.com/carpets.htm

I think the Newton green is too green - their biscuit colour is probably closer but still not right - this is the colours page - carpets are near the bottom.

May be worth looking for suppliers for other BMC/BL cars - the trim colours were used across the range.
