hello, i am preparing my mini for a MOT check and my rear lights are not working(when i switch the lights on) so does my number plate lights

Indicators work, Stop light works, reverse light works.

is that a fuse issue? those 2 functions are connected together maybe?

You say its just the rear lights not working? So not the fuse!! U nder the windscreen scuttle panel on the wiper motor side there should be a bunch of wires in bullet type connectors. Im pretty sure the one going to the rear light cluster is the red/green. If the connection is corroded clean it up with a bit of sand paper and re connect. If after reconnecting they still dont work then check you are getting voltage at the connector. If you see 12volts then it is either the connections in the boot or the lamps
Hope this helps

Is the rear number plate light working?
Is the speedo backlight working?

If no it's a common fuse, poss 3-4.

Not wanting to contradict 998dave but if it was the fuse then the front side lights would not work either.
