alrighty! was thinking of deseaming the mini whilst saving for the zcars kit, ive come across ISOPON METALIK has anyone had any experience with this? whats it like as a finish etc? would you just go with the old fashioned p40 and p38? cheers

The metal based bodyfiller is ok, but it is quite expensive for what it is..
Normal filler will do a similar job.
If you really want to go with a metal finish, use lead loading.
It is a little tricky to start with but you get used to it, and it is a metal finish that is not going to crack, the lead will flex with the body and will not let in water.
(Filler is Hydroscopic)
£30 for a kit to start you off with and a hot air paint stripper about £10 from B+Q
Lead load kit 1
If you look at the pic below you can see the difference in colour of metal on the Etype, this is where I lead loaded to get the final shape as filler would crack as the panels flex.
Lead kit 2
The white Rolls Royce on the site also got lead loaded to sort the bonnet gap problem you can just see in the restoration section of my web site
