Hi,
I've had a nightmare bleeding the clutch slave and yesterday it blew up, combined with a massive 'twang' noise just before. The twang, I'm assuming came from the clutch arm mechanism on the side of the gearbox, because now the arm is too far forward and stuck in position.
I'm gonna start again with a new clutch slave, but has anyone got any ideas about the arm mechanism before I start taking it apart? Has this happened to anyone before?

I think this happened to R1minimagic, he was just using it as normal pressed it twice and pushed it too far, he ended up putting new bearings in the clutch cover, not an easy task as the bearings were so tight he had to put the cover in liquid nitrogen to get them in, it's got to be easier using a secondhand cover

One thing to stop it happening again he used a slave cylinder that has a circlip to limit the travel, some have them a lot don't or another possibility is to fit a physical stop like a bolt to stop the clutch arm moving past the point of no return

I've pm'd R1minimagic to find out exactly what he did, but Ive got an idea. I'm gonna drill and tap two spots on the rim on the slave and fix a washer over the end with 2 little machine screws, so the cylinder rod can move but the cup inside the cylinder can't move past the washer.
