Hi
For a 1960 850 Mini (with a magic want gearbox), I think the final drive was originally 3.76 when it left the factory

Does this sound correct? I have looked in Haynes and the BMC workshop manuals and can't seem to find the figures. I am getting a gearbox rebuilt and just need to confirm.

Thanks

John

Yes, 3.76:1 was standard back then.

Rev-tastic!!

Is it going to be a regularly used car John? Because I would seriously consider blessing it with 'longer legs' if you value your ear drums/ piston rings and of course if the engine can pull a different ratio.

The 3.44:1 in mine is not really practical over 55/60mph :)
