Ok, I know this was started under Cowboy's mini project, but since I am the one doing the seats... it's my project now.
So far it has been a mild nightmare, but isn't going too badly now. I only hope my poor old sewing machine will keep up with the amount of work it needs to do.
Started out on Thursday night with Buzz decided to cut out the pieces for the back of the rear seat. Fine, but he forgot to leave me much for a seam allowance.
Started the sewing on Friday and I managed to get it all sewn together stopping to take pictures and the occasional coffee. Was going fine until I ran out of thread on the bottom halfway through a piece. So had to rewind a bobbin and start over on that section. Then when I was sewing the top and side piece togther, the fabric caught and I had to carefully pick the seam out and re-do it. Not a happy camper. Finally doing the finishing touches on it (putting it all together) when Buzz told me that I had a piece upside down, he had cut notches for the top for the red and I had sewn it to the bottom. I did ask him when I had it layed out before putting it all together if it was right and he said yes... so blaming him for that one. Never mind, it's OK now. We both replaced the new cover on the seat and clipped it on. Not looking to badly... for a first attempt.
Still have to do the bottom of that seat and the front ones. So I better get busy.
Today I cut out all the pieces I need. Did most of it by ripping apart the old one and using that as a template. Haven't taken any pictures yet today though. Will start the sewing machine up later once the kids are in bed adn have the peace and quiet to do it.

I managed to finish the bottom of the rear seat late last night. I just would not go to bed until it was done. Looks pretty good if I do say so myself. I just have to secure it to the seat now. Pictures have been taken with the new camera so we just have to wait for Cowboy to fix his PC ( no modem) so we can get them up.
next comes the front ones, just hope those go as well.
and NO, don't think I will do any more unless I manage to convince my loving, darling hubby to buy me a new sewing machine...... ( not much groveling there)
