Your question isnt very clear? Is it that the head unit doesnt work how you've wired it?
If so, look at the manual supplied with the unit. You essentially only need 3 wires hooked up for it to work (excluding speaker cabling). You need a 12volt positive wire which essentially runs straight off the battery (i think it should be green in the mini), the next wire is an ignition cable which means the HU will only take power when the key is in and engine on (should be red or orange from what i can remember) and then you need an earth wire (black). Once these are connected, all you need to do is connect the speaker cables to the correct ports (shown in the manual) and away you go.
If you're getting confident by then, you can add an aerial cable for an electrically extending aerial, and a dimmer cable to make the display dim when you turn on your lights.

You will have to get a paper clip or needel and poke the termanals out of the conecter. Then rearange them to match the pins on the head unit. Can be a pain but if not you face buying an adaper loom and there like £10 from halfrauds and often dont work.
Make sure the wires from the car are what they are ment to be for the new head unit dosent matter to much about the colours. Just use a multi meter to find the IGN live and permant live, then there should be one that gets power when side lights are turned on, and another for the arial, the rest will be left and right front and rear speaker wires.
Theres usualy a diagram on the HU that tells you what wires got to each pin in the socket at the back.

The best way to do it, which is how i wire all my headunits is to find which wires go to one another and twist them together before soldering them together and using heatshrink to make them safe. Just cut off both connectors and do that if worst comes to worst. I do it because it ensures all the connections are 100% and for peace of mind that iv done it all correctly. Just personal preference.
