right, i got my mini with this terrible head unit and it was time for a change, i wired it all up and when i put the new head unit in it was too long if you will.
I think it is insulation or whatever it is behing the unit in the dash that is stiopping the head unit pushing all the way in, any sugestions? :teehee:

Yeah, as Danie says, u need to take out the old holding frame that held the old HU in place and replace it with the one supplied with your current HU.

Unless you have a double DIN HU - as in one thats like a square and has a big screen for also being a sat nav etc, all headunits are of a standard size so if one fits, another physically has to.

yeah it actually fits into the thing and it has the new head unit older in it just seems to be too long to fit the cables that will plug into my amplifier is it a good idea to take peice of the insulation away?

yeah, just take the soundproofing stuff out, at a guess youve got a proper dashboard, so you wont really notice much difference when you do take it out

ive got nothing either side of my bulkhead, and i can only hear induction noise :teehee:

Are you using RCA cables directly out of the back of the HU? if so they may be fouling the bulk head. Maplin (and I'm sure others) do a right-angled adapter LINK that helps.
