Okay, I know this gets asked a lot but please read on anyway.

We were with Sureterm, who gave us a decent deal last year.

The set up we have is our mini with all the parts declared, my dad is the owner and main driver and myself as a named driver.

Which was fine last year, but this year sureterm have tightened up and won't offer as I'm 21 as the named driver. They'll do it if I was the main driver, but it's £1300 or something, and the fact is I'm not the main driver.

Looked around a lot of companies and they won't offer it with me as the named driver, and it's rather expensive with me as the main. They all think we're "fronting" or whatever you want to call it, which is untrue.

So what we're wondering is what companies are you guys with, and is anyone else in a similar situation with regards to having a younger person as a named driver?

it's got 12 x 6 MWS superlights, sportpack arches, spotlights, stage 1 kit.

That seems cheap, the issue seems to be insuring me as a named and my Dad as the main though. It's what we actually want as it's the situation we have, but the insurers don't seem to trust people anymore?

Cheers for the suggestions so far though guys, will look into them.

Thought people might find it helpful to find out what the end result was.

Went to Classic Line. Dad as the owner and me on the policy as well. 5000 miles. agreed value of £2500, all mods declared. £277. Dad says the guy seemed to know what he was talking about and they only take what they consider 'low risk' so it keeps the costs to a minimum.

Hi all,
For the security of my vehicle I always go with AXA insurance. It keeps safe. It provides all the standard covers.

but are you a named driver on your dads insurance ?

Sounds a good deal for both of you blagney. They have gone very strict with name drivers. They even check when the car was purchased incase its yours really.I think to many spoilt things by crashing there folks cars on the V5 checks.
