A mate gave me a 12" JBL GT4 sub, but without an enclosure I was thinking of doing an install on my rear seats but I will need to use a ton of MDF... so I thought about Optimize Automotives version of an enclosure in the boot.

Like this:

But.. I already have a liner kit:

Could I just build on to the existing liner, or get a box made to fit in there or do it myself, I dont know how to curve the MDF though? And apparently I would need 1 cubic foot of air in the enclosure

Ideas?

Thanks :w00t:

have a look at my thread in the ice section, i used an optimise kit, and modified it for a cubic foot.
sadly i cant give you measurements for the box as i dont think andy at optimise would appreciate me doing so if he read this, ill go find a link to the thread for you now

Edit: found it http://www.theminifo...howtopic=161634

and check my project page in the link under my sig for pictures of the final installation :w00t:

Do me a favor and measure like this for me will you? About an inch in from all sides, and the angles front and back.
If you can do that, i can advise you on a sub box and even supply you with a cutting list.

The sub kit I got from Retro Retrims isn't actually curved. It's a box with a shaped frontal piece (same shape as the piece that covers the fuel tank), and a piece of hardboard type material covered in cloth that velcro's onto the side of the front of the sub box. This gives the curved look, without having to make the box actually curved.

Dan
