I have just painted mine,i used 2k high build primer if i remember correctly, pretty sure i used about 1 1/2 litres of primer, this was for in and outside, but no bonnet, boot or roof as such, then top coat used another 2 litres,in hindsight i could've used another half litre to get it on a bit thicker really.

You will find red oxide will want to react with anything you put over it. It is very much old school now and isnt compatible with modern materials. Alot of aerosol primers like to react too, but I cant say without knowing what it is.
Personally I would remove all oxide and grey primer and start your prep again. The only materials going on the car should be filler, etch primer, surface primer, seam sealer, top coat (or basecoat and clear)
To prime an entire shell inside, outside, underneath I would say you need 3 litres of primer plus hardener.
To paint an entire shell inside, outisde, underneath I would say you need 4 litres of solid top coat or 3-4 litres basecoat and 4 litres of clear.
