I'm going to be getting a new exhaust manifold for my 94 mini cooper spi and I would just like to know the benefits of a stainless lcb manifold rather than just a the usual lcb so could anyone enlighten me? I'm looking to get a maniflow lcb.

Not sure if it's true but I heard they dissapate heat slightly better than steel alone... doubt it's very much of a noticable difference.

Thanks for the help, it seems like a stainless lcb isn't really worth the extra £200 then.

...or you could have your std. LCB ceramic coated, which helps with the heat dissapation and looks shiney!

Looks awesome Pat really nice!

Ceramic coating is the way to go, I would have but didn't have the time at the time...

Also worth adding that I just read S/S LCB's generate more noise than the mild steel LCB.

Thanks, I'm lucky, only live about a mile from Jet Hot Coatings.

exhaust wrap can help drown out the extra noise though... + gives a benifit to stop the heat transfering to the inlet manifold... and looks cool :)

It cost me about $100 USD. I had a friend of mine include it with his stuff as he does a lot of business with Jet Hot. He does mostly motorcyle stuff.

A nice thing about doing the ceramic coating is that they do the inside of the exhaust header also at the same time. If it has a CAT on it, they can only do the outside.

A guy I know that races Minis ceramic coats his exhaust and uses header wrap also!
