New to TMF!
And yeah, another asking about insurance! Sorry...
I'm 18 with one years no claims and I've got a 998 Mini CheckMate;
13x7 alloys, wide arches, Hi Lo's all round, upholstery changed and a stage 1 kit...
Just wondering if anyone else has the same or near to, and how much there paying for insurance..?
My first years insurance cost me just over 2 grand!! Theres no way I'm paying that much again...
Or if anyone could copy in a link to another thread that would help?
Must appreciated guys!

there are so many variables that your policy price will be nothing like another 18 year olds.
the only way to find out how much its likely to be is to phone around.
just to add, get a mini mag and try the numbers in the back. you'll be suprised how much they lower there quotes when you already have one from a rival.

Thats on a 71 mini good condition, 998cc engine with stage 1 and 266 cam and fairly spec'd in other area's
They dont like it if ur engine is putting out about 15% more power than standard, but u can get around that with a stock 1275 and they told me my exess would raise by 50 quid, no actuall insurance increace tho!!!!

My mini insurance is with footman james. With all mods declared at 17 it was £700.
I believe classic insurance is the way to go for new drivers with modded minis. You don't earn no claims but you saves thousands over normal insurance.

ive got a classic policy that i get proper no claims with, should i not have to claim.As above its pretty useless asking what others are paying because there are so many variables. For example my mate in Wolverhampton pays £600 for his insurance on a golf with a 1.6 engine. I got quote for a similar car living in Manchester of £2700.
