Im running a pacet solid state fuel pump and a filter king fuel pressure regulator on my 1380 with hif44.

The problem i have is the filter bowl leaks! I have replaced the seals tightened the nut up as tight as it will go, the bowl has no cracks, i have cleaned the whole setup and dried with compressed air before fitting the new seals.

Anyone else had this problem? Any ideas?

If not, anyone have any better fpr's to use and i will use inline filters.

I have had filter kings fitted to any number of cars and never had this problem unless I put the alloy bowl in in correctly and it jams rather than nips up the seal.

Is there a rubber diaphragm in the housing that seals the pressure spring which may have perished, or is it definately leaking from the bowl?

I don't think there is anything else out there which is better, just dearer and more bling.

It is definatly leaking between the bowl and the regulator itself, i have tried a new seal, done it up not too tight, leaked, done up tight, leaked, done up really tight and guess what leaked!!

Are they supposed to be rubber mounted to the car by any chance? I was wondering if it has anything to do with the vibrations going through it?

No, I don't think I have ever seen them rubber mounted.

Is the alloy bowl round, if not could it be missing the seal somehow?

I am having the same problem! Facet red top pump, filter king clear bowl filter/reg, hiff 44 and 1275 stage 1 spec.

My current theory is the reg cant deal with the pressure the pump is kicking out. was thinking of fitting some kind of restricter ring before the reg.

But not sure if it will work.

I've got the same problem on my filterking (with a plastic bowl), it seems that petrol eats away at the plastic bowl and deforms it enough to make it leak. obviously the alloy bowl one is fine, just the plastic one. great design eh...!!
It seems they have started making the bowls out of glass again now, so that seems to be the way to go, if you can get spares?

I had a brand new filter king on my vw bus. Leaked like sieve arond the unions. I was told by Eurocarb to use PTFE tape. Not the described problem but I wasn't too impressed.

Mine leaked at first. I took it off, got a cloth round the nut on the bottom to give me some grip and did it up really very tight, I mean until my hands were red raw - Hasn't leaked since.
