Hi All,

How difficult is it going to be to fabricate a set of the Cibie grille covers like the ones in the IJ film.

The IJ lightbars are more readily available than they used to be, the 3 - point rollcages are available, so are the cibies (or Sim copies)but the original grille covers are very rare and very expensive.

Does anyone make them?

Any thoughts?

You can just about see the black outline of them in that photo. Try and get a pic with the lights off.

Deffo there!!
They are fitted to all five lights...I assume that the ones fitted to the headlights are different as they are convex where as Cibie Oscars are concave.

On the pic it is just possible to make out the outer grille ring on the headlights. The rest can't be seen due to all the lights being on.

ahhhh. i see what you mean. lamp covers with grilles. makes sense now :)

You could probably make some from some headlamp rings? weld on a bit of mesh, and strap it on (can't make out if they are leather or elasticated straps)

other than that, try a few of the really retro car sites. 1920s/30s bits. they may have something similar that can do the job.

I've had a good look but no joy.

It looks like they're incredibly rare and lots of people want some, so I'll have to make them myself!!

Any other ideas anyone?
