the shock mounting pin is higher so you can get your car nice and low with standard height shocks on, that way the shocks dont bottom out and you dont have to spend more money buying lowered shocks, hope this helps.. Lee

Josh you don't need lowered shock mounts as you have the shorter damper already :) Try in the classifieds for a set of standard front shock brackets......

Im assuming your talking about the mounts available from reputable mini parts suppliers, not some cheap ebay fad?if so ,The point of using 'lowered' shock brackets is there designed to be used with shorter dampers and keep it upright(by having the mounting further in) as with standard brackets and lowered(shorter) dampers they end up tilting out at top mount, when they need to be kept upright to work properly.
So they dont 'lower' your car with standard dampers, they are 'required' when using lowered dampers.

THat is true, however Josh hasn't actually lowered his Mini, but the donuts are old and have sagged, so he has fitted the shorter dampers, not an ideal situation. But one that doesn't require the modified mounts.

Something not quite right here Josh, didn't you say the other day that you had a gap of about 3 fingers between the top of the wheel and the wheel arch ?
