just got back from working in Germany. when i was leaving i had a quick walk through duty free in Düsseldorf airport and in the middle of one of the shops is a mk4 mini fitted with golf crystal cross hairs looks amazing. its stuffed full of soft toys as part of the display.

took some pictures which i will put up later.

but while i was there i picked up a pair of guess what

thats right crystal crosshairs for a mk2 should fit easy now. they were fitted inside the main chrome rim but didnt have the inner chrome rim.

also found this as my inspirational car

If you bought them over their then wont they be for left hand drive cars? So the beam will be the wrong type.

I've fitted them to my Pickup. The inner headlamp rings had to be chopped about to get them to fit as they are actually slightly larger than Mini 7" headlights.

Here's pics of mine...

From my experience of driving Mk1 Golfs in the dark, it would make more sense to fit mini lights to the Golf.

what a good question, i've been trying to do this at the weekend and to be honest it can be done, but in my opinion only if you bodge it

1 the inner ring will not fit
2 if you cut the ring you can line up the adjusters but you cant fit the securing screw
3 if you can get both of the above to work then your left with trying to fit the outer ring

i have seen it done, but it wont be on my car

I had to grid off some of the lip on the outer ring to get it to slot over and fit securely.
