Right, i have to be sharpish with this as i need about 5 days of insurance on my mums car by Wednesday.
I rang up A-Plan insurance (my mums insurance company), and they told me in order to get temp insurance on her car (a BMW 118d) I would need to be 23 and have held my license for at least 3 years. That's the second time A-Plan have let me down, as when i had passed my test a couple years back they doubled their premium for me to £2000, on a completely standard 998 Mini. So screw them.
I then rang Footman James, my current insurers (who i'm happy with), but they explained in order to receive temporary insurance, i had to go to the same company the car is already insured under, i.e. A -Plan. I'm not quite sure that's the case.
Aren't there any companies that deal with temporary insurance only, or can give me a decent rate for insuring this 1.8 diesel Beemer for a few days???

i went on google and searched for temporary car insurance and found a few places on there that offered minimum of 1 days insurance which i got as i needed to pick up my clubman estate and my current insurer wanted to charge me for a short term insurance of 7 days which was some silly price, got 1 days insurance for £26!, but majority of them you had to be at least 23 to get insured im afraid, but its worth a look!

I have a friend who got insured on his mums Alfa 147 T Spark at 18 at a very reasonable price, i think it was around £50 for 2 days. I've tried getting in touch with him but i think he's away...
