You can download a form from the DVLA (V888 form I believe) which you can send off, for a small fee and if your reasons are good enough, the DVLA will send you the current owner's details.
If you don't want to know the current owner then we'll need years of which you are after.

According to the DVLA among other car check websites the reg is not on the database. Probably means it doesnt exist any more.

i couldnt find it for ages till i got my log book though
i just wanted to know any history behide my car all i know is
built in 1979 for luton and a old couple brought it and had it for a few years
all the last owner could tell me and that he raced it once or twice

From looking at the details from Direct Gov, she isn't actually licensed (meaning she isn't taxed nor sorned)

well she is deffo on sorn ive got the doc's in my safe
and ive phoned the dvla a few times since owning the mini and they've told me its on sorn and told me when my mot ran out
