thanks for the reply, i know your a nice guy to talk to but you seem very busy to contact. I have never received your email address and I will use it now I have it since it sounds like the more reliable option.

I have never received any samples so will resend you my address as there may be anomalies.

Im pleased to hear you are wanting to resolve this.

many thanks

garry

Hi Garry, eMail is definately the best option, it really is difficult sometimes to answer the phone. I definately want to get it sorted for you - there is nothing worse than bad feeling when we meet again at the shows. When I get your eMail I can send you a photo rather than samples if that is easier and go from there. I appologise for the stress I have caused you and will get it sorted out. Hopefully see you in Mamby.......

Not sure if the TMF members realise how much time and effort goes into making our stuff - I will get faster when I finally have the £28k saved for the CNC router but until then I can only just keep doing my best with the limited 10 hours in the day I can use the machines and try to please all of the people all of the time. I really do feel for those I have let down and will endevour to put it right the beat I can. I make around 20-30 dashboards a week and have now manufactured over 18,000 in total, not to mention the consoles, speakerboards, etc, etc - sometimes things just go wrong.

Jay,

I don't think that it is a case of people not realising what is involved in your business. It's more of a case that you seem to always over promise and under deliver and that you consistently fail to communicate with your customers when things do "just go wrong".

If you stated from the outset that it might sometimes take you over six weeks to produce your product for whatever reason, or at the very least you kept your customers updated with delays as you encountered them, then you probably wouldn't have all these problems in the first place! Instead what you seem to do is take the customers money up front and tell them to expect delivery in around 14 days. You then repeatedly fail to answer the telephone, or answer emails, when the customer tries to contact you to find out what has happened! Naturally the customer then fears the worst and assumes that you have disappeared with all their money and so thread after thread gets started here asking if anyone else has had similar problems with you! Customers like me even have to endure a lengthy Paypal dispute to get our money back and still you offer no word of explanation or apology!

So you have made 18,000 items so far.... Have you considered for a minute that your workmanship and your products are actually excellent and that if you hadn't managed to destroy your own reputation so effectively, by having so many disgruntled customers around, you could well have purchased a CNC router years ago and employed an entire work force by now, leaving you to sit back and merely rake all the profits in?

Point taken, I must admit I do take some solace from the fact that there are no threads on here saying how crap the workmanship is and just seems to be about the delivery. Need to improve, yes. The waters do get muddied sometimes between what you are hoping to deliver (the promise) and how the job turns out (the delivery). I was close to the router a few years ago, Mum died a horrid death from cancer and I almost went bacrupt, losing my marriage, house etc along the way. I am sure I will get there again some day.

I will take your advice though and try to keep customers more aware that they haven't been ripped off - just delayed a little......

Old topic I know, but feel like I should say something:

Was looking around to find a new interior for the mini, wanted a brushed alloy so was pretty hard to find exactly what I wanted, looking online I saw he'd set up an eBay shop, called driveninnovation, this is where I found him. Took the number of the advert and gave him a ring to explain what I wanted and he gave me a price (a good one at that too!) so then we agreed and I sent the payment over, I used PayPal so he sent me his email, this was when I spotted the @minteriors bit, so as anyone else would do after parting with around £150, I had a little look around for info on him, this then lead me to numerous threads similar to this, that then began to worry me. Was'nt too worried as I would be covered by PayPal anyway so decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and left it a day or two.

Got to say I genuinely think he's learnt his lesson now, I get phone calls every time he does something, I.e he rang me to let me know he got the money, he rang to say he's started making it, and rang to say he's finished and will be sending it off asap, he's a top bloke and felt I had to clear up his reputation, I feel in no way in danger as he seems to have listened to the above posts and is letting me know how things are going.

Saying that though, haven't recived yet but he said he'd post off monday I think so will update when I receive them, all in all he's a good guy and defiantly sorted himself out, would recommend to anyone.

I'm intrigued to know if this was all resolved in the end. Was it?
