Hi all,

I was in Halfords the other day and noticed that in amongst the cables and connectors stand the sell these tiny little flashing red lights.
12v and just dead simple - sort of a fake alarm thing if you get my drift. It's just a tiny red diode on the end of two cables.

So I was wondering how you would wire something like that into the ignition circuit so it comes ON
when the key comes out and went OFF when the ignition went on ?
My car has no alarm but I wouldn't mind it looking like it did (with one of these little red flashy jobs on display somewhere).

Best wishes
Monty

You can buy a real alarm pretty cheaply,

You might get away with wiring it to earth via a circuit that will be at the same voltage when switched on, up stream of the ignition warning light for example. - 'n a flashing LED will be pence of off Maplins, Rapid etc

you can use these,

I'd just wire it up so it is always on, they draw so little it will take months to flat the battery

one side is connected to a perm live/pos , other side is connected to an ignition live/pos .= light is off when ign is on and light will be on when ign is off .
