Most oil leaks are caused by pressure in the crank case - forcing oil out past the seals. make sure the breathers are all clear - ans at least one is connected directly to the carb intake. To check for pressure - hot engine idling - remove oil filler cap and rev up - is there a plume of smoke/fume ?? As for the gear selector - I just fitted two new seals - one on top of the other - it works.

both breathers just have filters on and neither connected to the carb inlet...

got the seal done, replaced pin on rod housing for a nut and bolt rather than tapping it in and out!
