:wales: I've just bought a mini saloon which has 6x13 deepdish minilites fitted, low profile tyres and what look like sports pack arches. the problem is that the outer edge of the tyre rubs against the end of the wheel arch at full lock, will this be a problem for the mot? any advice appreciated cheers, kevin davies.

Cheers minidaves, the suspension does look low but i don't know if it is adjustable, i'll have to have a look.

To stop my wheels rubbing I...
Took my arches and bumper off.
Grinded the ends of my bumper away about 1cm.
Moved my arches forward.
Grinded the wing out more to the front of the car
Gridind off about 1cm off te end of the front valance
Problem solved!
Shame the grinder burnt out when i went to do the other side of the car.

I agree with Guessworks, sounds like a car that's only been 1/2 way converted to Sportspack spec. KAD make inexpensive parts to reduce the lock of the steering rack which are very easily fitted and convert the lock to the same as a Sportspack rack. Check the rear as there should be 6mm spacers added to maintain the proper setup. The front wings should have been cut away slightly to fit the arches, but it probably hasn't had the strengthening parts added behind the arches where they are cut. The strengthening panels are avilable from BMH suppliers.
Actually, ignore all that. It could be a genuine Sportspack as I've just noticed that you mentioned deep dish alloys are fitted. Essentially deep dish alloys put the tyre in the same position it would be in if a large spacer was added. No good for the handling or mechanicals in most cases but if you like the look then that's up to you.
If that's the case then to get around it you will probably need to be creative. You could add the KAD parts and reduce the lock even more than the Sportspack rack does but that will make driving the car, or more specifically parking the car really annoying. You'll probaby just end up having to butcher the wings a little more.
