>_< First of all Hi!! My names Emily

So I'm new to this, in fact new to the whole mini scene :D

For my first car I've just bought a Mini City E 1989 998cc. Its a bit of a resto job, as the money kid who owned before me, crashed it and then had his parents buy him something more expensive to prang.
Anyway :dontgetit: like I said I'm new to the car scene and hope some people can give me some advice as I go along. I hope to do most or all of the work myself, in between uni and part time work in order to pay for my mini resto

Some of the things I might ask you might seem totally daft, but I know hardly anything, but hey, we all gotta start somewhere

Hi Emily. Welcome to TMF. Well done you for wanting to learn about mini restoration. I would suggest you become a TMF+ member (£5) as the discounts you will get on parts will save you a fortune. Post some pictures of your car and start a rebuild thread once you get started.

 This currently is my only picture of Eddie, at the moment a category C write off, but I'm gonna soon change that.

Thanks for all your replies and I am sure gonna need a lot of help, as I'm gonna be doing all the work myself, with the wise words of a few friends.

So far I've done the HPI check and had a viewing (both car & documents) , so I'm taking a knowledgeable friend with me tonight to give him the once over and hopefully bring him home. Was a little unsure about buying private but wouldnt be able to buy a mini otherwise. Any points on buying private I should consider?

Very happy about him, :dontgetit:.

Thanks again.

Front looks low recon cones and that may need replacing unless it broke something in the crash other than the damage looks like a tidy and standerd mini wich is unusual nowerdays good resto/project car. Hope u get a fair deal on it.

It was a complete steal, just over 50000 on the clock, mostly all bits there and the crash damage was pretty minimal for what the guy did :L

But for £350 I couldn't really say no, going to be a beautiful little car

Good times!

His name is Eddie and yeah, a few - as i said I don't really know all that much, just gonna be taking it all back to standard, making sure he runs, fixing body work and giving him a good old paint :) BRG with white roof. I'm posting it on here as a project so should have bit by bit sections showing what I'm doing with him. :P
