Used a jack for first time other week and on rear subbie the cup on my jack has like raised sections so really digs in, would of thought a flat top be better. Is there any products available to
put on top of jack and axle stands or is it just easier to use plywood etc?
Not so much worried now but once i painted subbie dont want to knock it all off again!

I've never heard of anything specifically for the job. Like most I use a piece of wood which does the job fine. Doubtless the bit of wood is much cheaper than something custom made would be too!

+1 for piece of wood...

£20 will get you a very nice chunk of wood, you might have some left over to spend on a rag to wrap the wood, or a slice of rubber matting if you're that worried.

Be sure that whatever you put under doesn't slip out, or become unstable.

Yeah i guess be cheaper, have lots of bits of wood all quite thick though, so next time might try some laminate floor of cuts. At mo my axle stands are quite high being 3 ton ones (got them off mate free so cant moan) just seems by adding wood i be getting it even higher than needed thus more unstable to.
Though when rear was on both axle stands it seemed very stable!

Now what would be really good is like a block of wood 1" thick say with a circular 1/2" recesss to it goes over jack or axle stand steel pad.
If only I had a router or similar to job! lol
