I would like to add a 12 volt socket to my Mini cooper MPI so that I can plug in a satnav. Ideally I would like to fit it in the blank space where (I presume) the choke knob would have been on previous models i.e. on the left of the switch panel.

Is this possible ? How should I wire it up ? Can the wiring be done from existing wires in the vicinity of the switch panel ?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Spoofy.

As above, except Rocky's cig-lighter socket is in the glove box with the cable concealed under the scuttle until it pops up ready to plug into the back of the satnav in the middle of the windscreen. (That would bit a bit pointless though if you're putting the satnav in the right hand corner of the screen.)
