Minispares Lcb Not Fitting

It seams to me that the 2 manifold pipes exit under the car too far over to one side so the y section is right up against the tunnel. That bracket/clamp for the gearbox is nowhere near to fitting.
I have tried levering it over (hence the scratched up paint) but there’s no way it’s moving over by that amount. The link pipe/rest of the system also isn’t the problem, as I’m not using that to pull the lcb into line. As all that’s going to do ifs stretch and ******* up my mounts.
Also nothing is bolted up, can’t even get the clamp in let along do it up fro the y to link pipe join, the only bit that is bolted up are the manifold flanges on the head so they half a chance at sealing. The rest of the system if just hung loosely on the mounts, not under any tension what so ever, just hung under its own weight.
I just can’t see how it’s going to fit without having to heat it up/cutting and re welding.

The "Y" piece isn't straight is it? Have you tried to turn it 180 degrees and see where the end pipe goes then?

I have and it's even closer to not even fitting down the tunnel, more like runs along side it under the floor.
Is this the Y piece on its own or the whole system?
If its the Y piece on its own then have you tried turning the link pipe round to get the angle? What I mean is its a bit of a lottery sometimes? I had to spin my link pipe round end to end (front to back!) to find out it fitted?
I can see what you mean about the clamp mount but I had to modify my one to fit
Mock up is an arse but a necessary one!

I can’t turn the link pipe round as it only seams to fit the rear box one way; both used main flow items. As the link pipe slides into the rear box unlike at the front with the y section.

It's both lol. It's a 998 bottom end fitted with a 1275 head.
most LCB's are designed for the taller 1275 block and make the LCB hang too low on a 998

It’s the fact it wants to naturally fit twisted and pointing towards the drivers floor pan, rather than central and down the tunnel.
Just bloody annoyed that something that’s supposed to be well made and from a reputable supplier, still doesn’t bloody fit. Not what I expected, I’ve had cheap nock off copies fit better than this one.
Still looks like I’m going to have to slice it, bent it to the correct shape and then re-weld it so it fits.

You could try and PM Simon at minispares, give him a link to this?

Mines always scraping things (car is lowered) and to get it anywhere near not catching anything it had to have a healthy dosage of lumphammer and block of wood

a-series 998 by the way, standard head

If so just forget about it. If the rest of you exhaust is mounted well enough, that little thing won't do much anyway.
I'm not even going to bother fitting one to my engine, the exhaust has plenty of support from the engine and middle exhaust mounts IMO.

Have you had a word with Minispares? And did you buy a whole exhaust kit or just one part that your trying to fit with other parts you've got?

Can’t really. I originally bought this just the manifold, must have been over a year ago off a very weld known member of the forum (I have no problems with them over this) BUT it was still brand spanking new, still rapped up in the packing/box it was originally delivered in, so even though it was second hand it was still basically brand new and never fitted lcb.
The rest of the system, which is a used maniflow twin box centre exit system isn’t the problem, the y section sits the same weather it’s fitted or not.
I did try and use the rest of the system to try and pull the y section over, but all that was doing was stretching the mounts and putting far too much tension on them.
The way I’ve always tried to fit exhausts, is to have them bolted/hung so that no one part is under tension. So that way once everything is bolted up there shouldn’t be any problems and the mounts last.
So quite clearly everything mini related seams to be made to ******* it that will do standards.
