Just seen a picture of a mini with Group 7 arches, and 13x7 wheels. They look slightly over arched, so by the looks of things, these arches would cover a set of Allycats (13x8) right?

Any thaughts on this. to be honest, I really dont know why im bothereing at the moment anyway as my car is pretty much sh4gged!

:wales: I've got group 5's on 7x13's and my wheels stick out well past the arches, they measured it at the mot centre and it was just allowed. I've got disks up front ans super minifins on the rear, I suppose it depends on spacers etc as 7's aren't much wider than 5's

I think your best bet is to wait til you've got your wheels, put one on, then measure how much it sticks out, and thus the width of the arch required.

Its really hard to say what arch you'll need for each given wheel since we don't know what offset they are or anything.

I really like those arches, but on the custom mini's site it says:

"these are designed to cover 13" x 7" wheels perfectly."

...what about miglia arches?

Good point.

Well the wheels should be arriving in the next few hours, So at lunch I shall put one on and take a photo.

They need refurbing anyway. So It is going to be a couple of months before they are on the car.

my only other option is to get Migs.

Well I got the Allycats today. Took them to Kwikfit and pulled the tyres off.
The Rims are SOOO wide!
As for the off set, its pretty much central in the wheel.

They NEED a refurb as they are in poo state.
also could do with nicer tyres, these ones are nice, but too big a profile. I want a smaller profile on them.

Other than that, They are cool. Didnt get a chance to get them on the car though, was too busy getting new exhaust and tracking.

Anyway, Will have one of them refurbed and retyred for this weeknd, So I can put one on the car. And get a picture etc.

What size Allyecats are they? I've got 7x13 allyecats on mine with bridgestone 175/50/13's on I think. Stunning tire, sticks like brown stuff to a blanket and good in the wet too

Mark, what have you done to your rear arch? Have you cut the lip away or something?

Hi everyone!

Please see R1minimagic's car in the projects section, he has Group 7's also.

They won't cover your 13" x 8" Alleycats, we have them on our Clubman Estate and Group 7's wont cover them.

Les.

Most people say the tread needs to be covered by the arch, but some people are now saying the whole wheel should be covered. You're best phoning a couple of local MOTers and asking them.

No, you cant fail an MOT thru sticking out wheels. But its illigal.

Its a bit of a grey area in the law really. A bit like legal terms on Fog lights. Most MOT Stations dont care on the position of the Fog light providing it only kicks out Red light. BUT, if its in the wrong place, then it is illigal.

Same as wheels.

Now my allycats are 13 x 8 and they tyres are 185s
They have quite a high sloping profile though and look rather under tyred, SO the tyres could well be streched on...

Shall have to refurb them, Sort my pannels out. and put them on the car to see what the score is.
