BHP 1275 MPI

ive booked a rolling road session for my 98 mpi cooper and was wondering what sort of figures i should be expecting anyone care to tell ?

probably about 55-60bhp, they aint that high unfortunately

63 BHP for the Twin point is standard

what would be the most cost sffective means to get an extra 10 horses other than an filter which i already have?

doing exactly what the john cooper garages do to make it up to 90+ horses

Actually, now I've thought about it..

Selling the car and buying one with a carbed 1275 in it... If you want a performance motor, don't buy an MPI Mini unless it's had the John Cooper Conversion on it and it must be the last of the conversions...

believe so, but they still have that stoopidly long diff on them which means you could still pick it up and throw it faster than it will actually accelerate :angry:

LMAO! True john, very true. My next door neighbours mini has the cooper conversion, tis very fast... dont think its a MPI tho.

the best way to make a tpi drive nice is

change the diff to a 3.1-1 and make it less asmatic, ie open out the head, then u can get a very drivable car

AFAIK, the cooper conversion consists of:

Stg3 head
1.5:1 roller rockers
manifolw exhaust manifold
Better exhaust
K&N replacement filter
a little sticker to put on the rocker cover

It's a standard Air Filter, they modify the Airbox.

Also they modify the Throttle Butterfly so it can open further.
