Hey all,

I've not been on here for a while so hello to everybody.

Believe it or not its coming up to 6 months since I've taxed my mini The reminder for the tax has just come through. My only trouble is I never drive the thing! As planned, I used it for my wedding, and it was great, but I've done less than 1000 miles in the last 6 months in it. I do a lot of driving for my job, which I think is the problem. The temptation to sell it is always there. Also, the roads around me aren't exactly the most inspiring unless I go a bit further afield.

Does anyone have any inspiring ideas to get me using my mini? I've thought about a track day or 2 but don't really feel I've built the right car for those, as it's a bit polished up and the interior a bit nice for thrashing around Brands.

Why don't you join your local club? there will always be people around you wanting to do stuff... go to shows etc...?

I followed your build from early on, and you made a brilliant car. For goodness sake get out and drive it! If ever I fall out of love with my mini, I just get to a show, a b road, or read miniworld and I'm right back to it!

You mentioned Brands hatch! are you fairly close to Brands, because we meet up fairly regularly and its a good excuse for a run out in the mini. On Monday we are going to a "drive in" movie at Brands to watch a screening of "The italian Job" on the largest outdoor screen in the world. Why not join us. Its only 20 quid on the gate per car or 15 if you book online.

Yeah customcart, I'm pretty near to Brands. Unfortunately can't do Monday, but thanks for the offer!

I think its just a case of getting off my bum and driving it!
