Hey all,

after some wheels for my 89 Austin city.

At the moment these have caught my eye http://www.minispare...4#prod_selector

The only question I have is will these look too big on the mini? I'm new to this kind of stuff and have no idea of the kind of size these wheels are, so if anyone has any pictures of a mini with 7x13 wheels fitted I would be most grateful
if you posted them.

Also, am I right in thinking group 6 arches would be the ones to cover 7x13's?

Thanks.

theres a pic of 13x7 alley cats, not very good but its not my mini sorry.

yes group 6 arches would cover them, but also you will need to think of body work as well as your wing\front panels will need trimming or altering to allow these to go to full lock without rubbing.

not trying to put you off just thought I'd warn ya

Thanks for the reply  they look great.

Yeah I did read that some bodywork would be needed, is it anything major?

Thanks

It depends how confident you are on bodywork its just a bit of cutting, the worst thing is making sure you've rust proofed it enough :D

Im currently doing it now for 10x6's heres a little link of a step by step in the FAQ i found

when fitting 13x7 make sure you dont just wack them on the orginal suspension. i would highly reccomend adjustable shocks also upgrade you bottom arms too 1.5neg and heavy duty tie rods and really should use hilos but no a must

Can you use sports pack arches with 13 x 7s?

I have these arches http://www.absmotors...let-arches.html

only ever seen them on 1 other mini apart from my own.

Oh and they cover 13 x 7 wheels perfectly!

Thanks for that :D

Reading your replies I have been slightly put off by the amount of hidden costs involved

Would it be absolutely necessary to upgrade the suspension and add front discs as mentioned in here and the guide thread posted?

well not sure as i didnt put him on them and hes now a bare shell so i have no idea all i no is that the idiot beofr me didnt cut the arches down

also i personaly wouldnt go for 13s after running them for a year as it comprimised the handling and in the rain it was a bit dodgy on corners

im now down sizing to 10x6 for imprived handling and smoother ride and also 10s dont eat through wheel bearings like 13s do

They look good :genius: I'm considering now going with 6x12's and group 5's I'm thinking they would be less hassle and cheaper to fit.. am I wrong?

dunno about cheaper... but either way your going to have to cut the front wings to prevent rubbing...

its worth spending the extra money for it to look right in my opinion...
