It wont be as loud as your DTM but will still sound nice, Maniflow build quality is awesome! And for performance they are awesome too, also if you have the money for stainless why not, it will last a lot longer

Maniflow sound nice (not too loud but with a nice deep burble) and are well made, and it's cheaper to buy direct from Maniflow!

Stainless depends how long you're keeping the car, but the standard steel ones last well (I had one on a previous Mini for around 3 years before I sold it and the exhaust was still good)

Maniflow all the way here too. 1.75 inch is good, 2 is most likely overkill anyways. going from 2in to 1.75in may have an effect on performance though, you would have to ask an expert though. Bernoulli is beyond me.

To get the best performance from an exhaust the pipe diameter needs to be a similar diameter all the way through INCLUDING the back box, this is why the DTM is a power sapper, as the exhaust gas gets to the end pipe it slows down as it has to go through 2 large tail pipes increasing the back pressure and not allowing the exhaust gas to flow freely, you need to keep a constant exhaust gas velocity, this is why bigger is not always better, especially on a mini. Of course if you have a massively powerful engine the exhaust size will need to increase but on a standard or even slightly modified 998 and even 1275 1.75" is probably best.

Mine is still loud as hell with the twin box setup, too. Within MOT limits here, though, which is all that counts.
