There is a UK company (that was also one of the first to develop the mini rubber cone replacement spring kits), that is now developing an aftermarket power steering kit for the classic, mini but it's not yet on the market (although there are some details on their website about it). I can't quite remember their name at the moment but I'm sure someone here will!

there are defo minis on the road with powersteering already fitted! a lot of them are adjustable, so while parking in tesco you make it light, and when on the country roads it makes it stiffer again so you get more feel and the steering isnt that heavy once moving anyway!

Not even the Jap ones had factory fitted power steering. There are after market systems, but the factory never fitted PAS to the classic mini.

Nope I am pretty sure that no classic mini came with power steering. People have adapted ones to fit, but they always say that it never handled the same

Minitastic.

Although, he's having some problems getting the parts to put it all in production, unfortunately - He's working on it though.

I could see wanting it if I had say an MPI with 13X7s that I was driving every day as they can wear out your arms.

The closest thing to factory power steering was the adaption fitted by Motability to Minis converted for use by the disabled. Motability offered it as an option, Rover/BL/BMC never did.

No production Mini (Leyland, Rover, Austin, Morris) Etc etc... came off the production line with power steering.

I've seen a KA conversion done before, but this is aftermarket stuff, I've never seen any company sell the "kit" in mass before.

Vauxhall Corsa Power steering is often fitted to classic Mini's as an aftermarket mod.
All the details to fit here:
http://www.16vminicl...=power steering

Jack Knight also produced this:
http://jackknight.co...;products_id=43

By the way 'a1dan mini' the New MINI is not (JUNK) some of us on TMF are more open minded and own both!
