I want to get a set of Mini alloy wheels refurbished and powdercoated. Ideally looking for somewhere close(ish) to Woking, Surrey.

Can anyone recommend anywhere?

There is a place in Hertfordshire who are supposed to be quite good who will take the wheels with tyres, take the tyres off, strip and re-finish the wheels then powdercoat and re-fit the tyres for £160 which seems a good price but they are an hours drive each way from me.

Ideally want somewhere closer..........

Thanks!

Spoke to them this morning and arranged to pop in on Monday to look at some wheels they have just done which are the same as mine. They quoted £55 per wheel which is pretty reasonable compared to some places I've had quotes from - especially as they will take the car in at 8.00am, take the wheels off, remove tyres, chemically strip wheels, do any repairs needed, powdercoat in any colour, laquer, refit tyres, balance wheels and refit them to the car and have it done by 5.00pm the same day.

If I get them done there, which I probably will, I'll post some before and after pictures.

My thoughts exactly!!

I guess if your talking about big 13x7's or something then it may be worth it, but for standard 12x5's then £55 a rim would get you some brand new ones!! (don't forget that you could then sell your old ones on for at least £15 a wheel, making new rims an even cheaper option!)

sorry, should have made it clearer - the wheels I wanted refurbed were 17" ones on my new MINI, the alloys on my 'proper' mini were also tatty so I just bought a set of Revolutions :)

The 'proper' Mini with it's new wheels / tyres..........

and the new MINI with re-furbed wheels - done at Wicked Wheels in Crawley. All the kerb rash gone and all done in 8 hours, very impressed. The picture makes them look a bit pink but that's due to a crappy phone picture, they are GLEAMING white!
