ACID RAIN...

Not really sorry!

Looks like water marks from your picture, use polish not T-cut and put your back into it, should buff out.

But, suprised T-cut didn't shift it...

P.S. you didn't smile for the camera.

cheers,

never painted it, this is the bonnet. just wondering what they where because they do disppear when i polish it just come back after about 1 week when it gets hot, i thought it might be the engine heating up the wax, but ill get the wax out and start buffering for a few days.

Just looks like water marks from rain water.

If you use a good quality wax regularly then most rain water will run straight off.

As above does look like waters marks that've been left there a while.

I'd put some more effort in with the T-cut or another less harsh polish (T-cut is for restoring faded/dull paint after all)

Then invest in some decent wax. Auto glym aqua wax is good for the money and is pretty easy to put on. Heres how well it worked on my car and they're HD wax is much better than this:

Might be worth giving the car a clay, even more so if the paint surface feels rough, this will remove all the impurities in the paintwork leaving it nice and smooth ready to apply some polish followed by a decent wax, I'd recommend AG HD wax or Orange Crush DoDo Juice wax followed by DoDo Juice Red mist sealent to keep the added shine and protection.

You might find its the curse of the red paint fade, and that looks like its been intensified by the water droplets.

I get that from either after washing or using the windscreen washer. Just use wax to get rid of it and it also buffs up the paint

a mate of mine has a mk3 golf gti in red and he had the same problem, i have a machine and he asked me to have a look at it.

started off with the clay (essential to get a good finish)

after a few passes with a fine cut polish they were still visible so i went to a harsher pad and polish and eventually they dissapeared and the paint looked brand new.

i then finished off with the machine and sealed the paint with some poorboys paint sealant and then waxed with collonite 476, very durable, 2 coats i also put a final coat of autoglym hd wax on for luck, and so far it had remained spot on.

if going down the machine route make sure there is enough paint on the bonnet so not to go through, especially if t-cut is regularly used.
