I'm thinking about getting a couple of doors from them, but does anyone have any experience of them?? Customer service, quality of work etc?

I only want a couple of door frames, which I'm guessing shouldn't be a problem, but I don't want to waste my time if the door frames aren't near "perfect" - as I'd do it myself.

Thanks.

I've bought the streetfighter doors from them a few years ago and had no problems at all. You see the old guy at most of the shows. He was helpful and added extra strengthening into my doors so i can use them with MK1 hinges and his work is good quality. You shouldn't have any problems at all with this company.

I had my doors reskinned and rebottomed by them, and they were 2 days of being dropped off. The bloke there has done a great job, the skins have been put on correctly, and the bottoms are still true, and the doors still have a good fit to the Mini as they were before they were repaired

I've also got streetfighter doors from them. They're great and fit my car really well.

I don't know if you'll be able to buy just a set of frames off him though unless they're on his site as he's always looking for doors to buy to refurb and sell on. If you just buy some solid frames off him, he's be losing out really since he could just put a new skin on them and sell them for £300.

How strong is ally though? With road use are they not really flimsy and subject to denting easy?

This may also be the stoopidest question ever asked, can you paint them?

Is an ali skin on a steel frame a good idea? Electrolytic action could make the frames literally dissolve even quicker than normal steel doors at the joins of the frame to the skin? And ok, it may save a half kilo a door or whatever, but is it a MASSIVE saving over a conventional door? They are HEAVY! Just a thought before you go and spend a lot of money, maybe worth researching some more.

Don't bother me at all as I've got carbon skins to bond on!.

Should see a massive saving on the doors after I've finished.

The ali skins are put on over sealant carefully so they don't come into contact with the steel so hopefully should be fine.
They are prone to dents as i found when prepping for paint and dry fitting to the car, but you just have to be aware of that and treat them more carefully.

The carbon skins sound good, the streetfighter is 6kg on its own, 9kg now built up with locks, windows etc so you should see a bit less than that i guess.

I need to use the original glass and winder mech. else I'd have gone for FG doors and carbon skins. Shame really.
