£150 to spend on a head unit
£70 to spend on some 6x9's (i know, limiting space)!!
£70 to spend on some other speakers to put elsewhere (possibly dash)
any thoughts on the three best to link together for the money?

I'm assuming you must have some speakers in the rear, so get a kick ass HU and some speakers in the dash, then save up for a amp/sub package. You don't want to skimp on the HU to get some 6x9's that won't give you much bass anyway.

Now I can see that your either going to put the 6x9s under the rear seats, or on the rear shelf.
CAD do Kenwood 6x9 subs + the amp and sound sound control box for aprox £120
You will also get a nice headunit from CAD for around £100. (Needs A Pre out)
CAD also do NICE Components for around £50
lets weigh this up, you have aprox £300 to spend on ice, and you want a basic "Fast" install.
For the same ammount of cash (£300) you can buy what ive jsut listed.
6x9 sub / amp setup - £120
Components from CAD - £50
GOOD headunit from CAD - £120
That comes to the same price as what you want to spend, and the sound will all be correct. music from the front, Bass from the back.
It will be pretty much the same as my setup. And I really rate mine!

If you can, keep away from regular 3 way 6x9s. 6x9 subs are ok though as they do drop low, but are VERY punch too if set up right.
They also dont need boxing. They MUST be mounted on a good plywood baffleboard though.

There's either these Genesis 6x9s for £150

Or the Kenwoods for the same money

The Kenny comes with an amp, but it say 200w MAX power, so I have no idea what that is in RMS

Really?! Then why weren't your mid and high range speakers as big as that sub box you had?! :tongue:Subs are for people who love their music and appreciate that low frequencies are as important as the mids and highs

Because physics depicts that small speakers don't need huge boxesReally?! Then why weren't your mid and high range speakers as big as that sub box you had?! :tongue:Subs are for people who love their music and appreciate that low frequencies are as important as the mids and highs
