As the title says, my exhaust is constantly rubbing the cv boot which has resulted with me not having a boot anymore...whats causing this to happen? i have new rubbers on the stabilisers and engine mounts

how can i stop it from doing it as theres no point putting a new boot on as theres no room between the pot and exhaust

do you mean on the pot joints?... cv joint is on the outside .... but a love tap with a mallet... or a blow torch and bend the exhaust out of the way is what a few people have to do..

what exhaust have you got?

have you got the extra bracket that attatches to the diff casing from the manifold ? this should help keep it off the pot joints as well as supporting the exhaust.

mallet and a love tap... the engine wont get it hot enough otherwise it would just bend out of shape

Bend the braket to help pull the pipe away from the joint.

Actually the pot joint is a CV (Constant velocity) joint, it is the Inboard CV. As said your probably going to have to make some 'alterations' with a hammer!!

I'd send the manifold back and ask for one that fits properly. I presume it's too late for this so some subtle adjustment is what's needed.

so disconect the link pipe from y piece t back box, leave y piece attatched and blow torch the exhaust and when red give it a whack, does it need a good whack or will it only need gentle tapping once that hot?
