Wont Run Without Choke On What Do I Do

hi guys got my mini all back together and it runs quite well but when i take the choke of it slowly dies why is this it hasnt been running for a year and the carbs been stripped down what needle do i have to asjust thanks ross

Check your dashpot oil.

Richen the mix.

If it drive crap but idles fine then its probably new needle time.

i cant drive it yet its stripped out how much dashpot oil should you put in thanks ross

Fill it to the top, it will push excess out the hole.

well since the choke just raises the idle and richens the mixture, the way to get it to run without choke is to do it manually by adjusting the carb.
You will then need to reset the choke settings aswell after.

If I understand you correctly you have done "something" to your engine and you or someone else has done something to the carburetor. Is this correct?
What was done to the carburetor? When the carburetor was placed back on the engine did you go through the basic adjustments to reset the starting mixture, idle, fast idle, and choke?
When the carburetor and engine were worked on, was the manifold removed? If it was, did you make sure it was seated properly when refitted to the head? If you have a brake servo, did you make sure the vacuum hose between the manifold and the servo was fitted?
