Hi all.

I would like to introduce myself to your forums. My name is Martin from Doncaster. I am 33 years old & i have just bought my second mini, with the idea of tinkering & modding over the winter ready for the spring next year. I have just sold my motorbike to get this but as i am a former Machanic/auto electrician by trade I just cant get Cars out of my system. I no longer work in the motor trade but I still need to tinker :grin:

My car specs:

1972 mini mayfair RED
The engine is a 1275 clubman engine which has been bored out to 1310.
a set of deep-dish 13x7 alloys
The car has a fibre glass flip front
Adjustable suspension all round (SPAX on the front, GAZ on the rear).
It has been de-seamed apart from the roof and the petrol tank had been changed to a bigger tank, with the petrol cap being removed.
cobra monaco bucket seats, safety devices rollcage.
4 pot brakes up front, vented discs.
LCB manifold & system. K&N filter.
The car came with loads of stereo gear in it but thats got ripped out and gonna sell, whats the piont of a sound system in a mini... after all half the fun is the noise of the car ?


I bought the car with no MOT & have got a very long list to get through till I can get it on the road. But it wont take ME long :wink:

Thanks guys for the welcome. The pics are from the Ebay advert of the car ( the BINI isnt mine???). I havent had chance to take any at my house yet because as soon as it touched my drive it was stripped down into 10,000 pieces. I have bucket seats in the dining room & wheels in the living room etc.....

Its going for some welding work on Monday so I may get chance to start taking some pictures from then. I will try & take some work in progress ones.
