Can any one give me photos of how to deal with adding a new floor to a 1975 mini clubman please, I am new to this and feel a bit lost thanks

A whole new floor? If so, its a big job if you have little welding experience.

I replaced most of my floor by tipping the car onto a mattress, without front or rear subbys attached.

ooh I havn't got room for that sort of technique,, what will the neighbours say?,, Do you think I could get away with patching it up here and there I have 2 fron floor pans and 2 inner sills. photos show the extent of the rot below

I'll admit I dont know what I'm doing , me dad's a welder hope i dont ruin this car

also i might be able to get you a full floor cheaper than anyone else.

Thats really nice of you, I might just do that if things get a lttle hairy,
my dad used to be a welder see and have been getting some advice from local mechanics.
however, I bought two floor pans for the front and two inner sills I have been told that the inner sill goes on top of the floor pan and then got told the floor pan goes under the inner sill< would you know if this is correct?
Incidentally how much would you be thinking to do the work based on the pictures i uploaded? where in Birkenhead are you?

floor pan should come with the inner sill going full height to the door step lip.

looking at the scuttle and how bad the o/s a panel and pillar are you're going to find a hell of a lot more work when you get scuttle/a panels out of the way. i could price it for you but i couldn't start on anything for about 4 weeks and to be straight with you it wouldn't be a cheap job. any price i gave would only be an estimate, as i say you can find a lot more rot when you get things out of the way.

without seeing the car in the flesh can guess it would need pillars (inner+outer) at least flitch repairs, heel board, steps, don't know what the boot floor is like plus numerous other bits that you find as you go along.

i personaly don't see the point in using just floor sections if all four corners need work doing on them, makes more sense to stick a full floor in as then you know it's all solid and will last for years. you could save a lot of money if the rot was just cut out and plated but i hate to patch things and leave any sign that work has been done.
if you saw the pics of the red one i'm doing it's having loads of new panels replaced just for the fact that the welding that has been done on them despite being solid looks bloody awful!!

give me a shout though if you want to pop over or i can come and have a look at the car for you.

I would agree changing the complete floor as you have a serious rust issue there and by the looks of it the heelboard as well.

If you do decide to go for the replace the floor in sections route then the replacement inner sills butt join to the floor sections not over or under. The front replacement floor panels have the inner sill section incorporated into them, i'm not sure about the rear floor sections.

To be honest though its not worth messing with separate sections, replace the whole floor assembly in one. You do seem to have a lot of rust in other areas as well the rear quarters especially plus from what i could see the rear seat pan looks crusty as well. Whats the boot floor like because if that bad then doing a complete boot floor pan replacement would be the way to go as this also includes the rear seat pan.

Good luck with the rebuild, you have got a very big job on your hands there.

oh I'm all depressed now but you are right my dad is talking a lot about patching and how he did his morris in the past and got it on the road without all the sweat of turning it on its side etc,,
you're right also about the a panels and scuttles, pillars steps etc, the boot has a hole on the left but is ok on the right, the thing is I want it as original as possible and wouldn't mind doing the job right.
I understand you can not give us a price but a roundabout' estimate could point me in the direction i need in terms of us doing the work. would it be many hundreds thousands or hundreds of thousands ?, go on give us a clue and then maybe i could trust you with it

Thanks very much for your advice, I'm wondering whether to do the floor in parts now,,, I'm al of a dither,, I guess I'll just have to get to grips with it
